Can I be on more than one team?
You can own, manage and be a member of as many teams as you want.
Top
How do I add my photo to my profile?
Click on "Account" on the top right, and then click on "Edit Your Profile". Scroll down to
Optional Information and you will see a field to upload your portrait. While you're there make sure you add your height and weight and all that other stuff too (that's for the Club540.net project)
Top
How do I create a Team?
Click "Account" on the top right of the page, scroll down to
Team Options and click on "Create a Team". You will automatically become the team owner, so, if you are NOT the team's "owner" or "founder", get his/her ass on the site and make them do it.

How do I delete my Club540 account?
Simply email me at Webmaster [at] Club540.com and I'll remove it for you, usually within a day or so.
Top
How do I delete my team?
Currently you can't. I just haven't coded that feature yet. It is actually pretty complex because I won't be allowing someone to delete a team which has active members and I will be requiring a vote for the team to be removed, etc. This is all because teams can be associated with videos and events which appear on the map, so deleting a team is actually a pretty big deal.
Top
How do I recruit people onto my team?
When you view a tricker's profile, you can add them to your friends list. From your
friends list, you can select which friends you want on your team, and then at the bottom of the page you will see an area that reads "Recruit friends to:" along with your team(s) and a submit button which reads "RECRUIT". Check the box next to your team and click the "RECRUIT" button.
Top
What are team captains and owners?
Team Captains can schedule events for the team and recruit new members. The team owner can promote members to captain and strip captainship from members, as well as edit the team profile/photo, etc.
Top
Why isn't my team listed on the Teams page?
Add a photo to your team profile and then it will show up.

How can I find other trickers who live near me?
When you registered, you were asked to provide your home town. This is because every member is assigned global coordinates based on that home town. When logged in, click the MAP button on the top left of the page and it will display a map and a bunch of icons of trickers, tricking spots, and events near you (assuming other trickers who live near you are also registered on the site. This version of Club540.com is relatively new still so give it some time if your map isn't cluttered with trickers and tricking spots yet. Click on any of the icons for more information - click a tricker icon to view his/her profile and contact him/her through the Club540 email system (private messaging). You can also click on the "Trickers" button in the top nav and it will display a list of registered trickers, starting with the ones who live closest to you.

How do I become a mod?
You need to be referred to me by another mod. Start posting on the forums and make yourself useful and a valuable resource on the site and then we'll talk.
Top
How do I search?
Search is coming in the near future. I'll be coding and implementing ALL the search modules at the same time. It's one of my last things to do because the site needs to be populated enough for any testing and debugging to be effective.
Top
How do I view other people's pages?
To view a tricker's profile page, simply click on his/her name or photo wherever you see it on the website - when they post in the forum, when they add videos or photos, etc. You can also click their icon on the map (if you know where they live) OR you can click the "Trickers" button in the top nav and click on their name in the list.

Where do I start if I want to trick?
Well, if you are not currently a tricker, don't register yet. Trick a bit in your backyard or your local gym by yourself first. Learn some basics by watching the videos of the tricks in Class A on the
Tricktionary This is what 90% of us did - once you learn the basics, register and click on the Map and see local trickers near you to get together and join their tricking sessions. I recommend you have a martial arts background with some formal training in basic tumbling/gymnastics before beginning a tricking lifestyle. Injuries (knees especially) are extremely common (so common it's like a joke around the community) so without a solid foundation, you will be setting yourself up for failure. Some martial arts schools have an "XMA" program, which stands for Xtreme Martial Arts. It's a program started by Mike Chat and teaches basic martial arts tricks in a well-structured format. For more info, visit their website at http://www.xmarevolution.com

Who made this website?
How do I add my local gymnastics school / park / dojo to the map?
There are two ways to do this. The first is to click "Account" on the top right of the page and then click under
Geo Options, click "Add a Tricking Spot".
The second method is to click the Map button in the top nav to view your local map. Right below the map there should be a link that reads "Add your tricking spot to the map!".
For reference, the link to add your tricking spots to the map is:

How do I add photos?
In this version of Club540, you can have unlimited galleries and photos tied to your account, and you can set your galleries to be public or private (only your friends *and mods* can view private galleries). To create a gallery, click "Account" on the top right of the page, and scroll down to
Media Options. Click on "Create a Gallery" and follow the instructions on the page; or, if you have a gallery already created, simply click "Add a Photo".

How to I upload a video?
There is no video
upload in Club540 version 4. Everything runs through Youtube. To add a video, Click "Account" on the top right of the page, and scroll down to
Media Options. Click on "Add a Video" and follow the instructions on the page.

Is there a way to add videos without using Youtube?
Currently no. I have recently been introduced to some other sites like Vimeo, but I don't have the time to devote to that area when Youtube is working perfectly fine for the time being. There are other video aspects I'd prefer to add first like timeline tagging so people can, for example, tag a Pop1080 at 2:27 in your video, or something similar. Youtube has this feature in their new API but it requires the Zend framework which I don't currently use for any of my projects.
Top
Why can't I edit my youtube ID for a video?
When you add a video, a URI (uniform resource indicator) is assigned to it, which is essentially the "link to your video page". This link contains the Youtube ID you provided. If we allowed users to change that ID, we'd risk having dead/broken links in Google's index and on other websites. If for some reason you need to change the Youtube ID for your video, just delete your video and add a new one with the correct Youtube ID.
Top
Why do I need to select all the tricks featured in my video?
Because this site is lame when users are lazy and that is a kick ass feature which only takes a minute of your time. By adding your featured tricks, Your video will forever be associated with those tricks. For example, if you selected Cheat900 as one of your tricks, someone on the Cheat900 page on the Tricktionary can click "Find videos featuring a Cheat900" and yours will appear in the list. Remember when you were just starting out? I bet you'd have given your left nut for this feature.. I know I would have!

I never got a validation email
Some email providers have their spam protections set really high. Add NoReply@Club540.com to your address book or contacts list and try logging in. Whenever you attempt to login while having an unvalidated email, Club540.com will automatically send you an email validation link so there's nothing else you need to do. If you're having repeated issues, try using another email address from Gmail or Yahoo or something, or email Webmaster@Club540.com and I'll manually validate your account. Keep in mind though that a valid email is required since your account will need to be re-approved by a mod whenever you modify required info such as your name or email.
Top
Why do accounts need to be manually approved?
This is a site for trickers, not for spammers, and not for random people who have no intention of ever tricking or being part of the community. To put it simply, would you rather have a map of 5-10 legit trickers near you who are actually interested in getting together for sessions, or would you rather have a map with 50-100 tricker icons and have to filter through 80% of them to find anybody serious? We do the filtering for you. This isn't Facebook or Myspace. All accounts need to be taken seriously - by all means have fun and act like an idiot but I won't be approving any accounts with the first name "Idontcare" and the last name "Whogivesashit"...trust me I've rejected many a dumbass.

What do the Classes mean in the Tricktionary?
The trick Classes are one tricker's (Sesshoumaru) idea that we adopted to organize the Tricktionary. They are simply a way to categorize the tricks based off their level of difficulty. Class A is arguably the "easiest" group of tricks and should be perfected before moving on to Class B, etc. Now, does this mean that ALL Class A tricks are easier than ALL class B tricks? No. There are many trickers who can spin and twist all day but can't throw a kick to save their lives so they would feasibly consider many Class C and Class D tricks to be "easier for them" than some Class B tricks. Ultimately, it is just a guide - every tricker is different and the Class system is only one tricker's interpretation.
