Moon Kick

Alias: Kick the moon
Description: A Gainer-hook. A trick where a person executes a Gainer, but pitches to the side a little bit and executes an outside spin kick (usually hook or wheel) with the trailing leg.
There are generally two ways to execute this trick: 1) kicking the swinging leg straight up, or 2) kicking it around and towards the shoulder like a kicking a ball. The first method produces the type of Moonkick you see in the vid above. Doing the latter produces the "Chuta Na Lua", which is the original Moonkick.
History: Known as a "Chuta Na Lua" in Capoeira the Moonkick is a "gateway" trick. The mislabeled "Kick the moon" which was made famous by Dean Alexandrou is essentially a slanted gainer flash, and not a true Moon Kick.
