Bio:

Yep, that's my first name: "Crawford".

Nickname(s):C-dog, Kuro, Kuro-Buu,

I'm a Mexican-American teen who doesn't speak any Spanish, only English. But if you wanna get technical, I do speak a little "Japanglish" [Jap-pang-glish]. That means I speak a mix of Japanese w/ English. Which means I fluctuate between sentences I'm still practicing however, I don't speak Japanese fluently, but I’d love to someday...I speak Japanglish when I ever get excited. It's true! Anyway…I have many other passions besides Tricking/Tumbling. I love Japanese Culture, (include Cinematography aka Movies, History, Music: J-Pop[ASAIN KUNG FU GENERATION!!!!] Art, and much more), Old School Kung Fu Films, M.A. Films (in general), Art (Drawing and Comic Art and in Deviant Art), Manga/Anime, Voice Acting, VGs (Video Games) and finally, a dream of going to major in Cinematography in Screenwriting and Directing. Also to work the in the field of Screen Fighting(choreography). Not "Stage Fighting, that's a little different.
There's a difference. Trust me!

The only martial art that I love practicing the most is "Zui Quan" aka. "The Drunken Fist/Drunken Boxing".
I was never taught it, just to let you know. It’s all self-taught. I've just been exposed to it SO MUCH by historians, films, actors and practitioners and books, that I've got the fluid motions and the basic gist of it, plus its history and origin. Although I’m still vague on some of its history...cause there're so many extensions on it!
BLOODY HISTORY!!!
But when it comes to mixing Drunken Fist w/ any other style, I’m no good. I'm just a nobody...a sad and embarrassing mockery of the styles whether it be Mantis,Leopord,Tiger,Chicken,Crane, Rat, Buddhist, Dragon, Monkey, Shaolin--WHATEVER!!!!
I'm horrible in mixing styles.
Although I’ll be honest.... I don't think I’m doing everything right...if you see me it may look the way it should but I dunno...
Except... The only thing about me is.... I DON'T DRINK.

My history...This is A long story, but I’ll keep it short.

I remember a number of things when I first started gymnastics and martial arts. I took gymnastics and at Will Moore Gym as a recreational sport when I was 4 and moving on to competing when I was 10 and quitting when I was 12 or 13, I'm vague on when I quit. So that means, I've had about 8 years of experience. I started Kenpo and Tae Kwon Do at the YMCA, when I was 6 and stopped both at 10 and that all I can tell you. The teachers always switched, so I don't really remember much. Plus, that was more than nine years ago. So I’ve REALLY rusted over time...
Even though I'm an Ex-Martial Artist...I'm be more than will to be taught. It depends...I'm shy about it sometimes and what kind of mood I’m in. But anyway...

I'll be honest, I was disappointed when I stopped gymnastics. Why? Cause it was alot of money to keep up the classes. But, due to a financial problem that was existing at that time. My parents couldn't allow me to go anymore. I was powerless and was withdrawn from the classes. I begged to my parents to send me back. But everyday, month, year I waited to start up gymnastics again. My parents just said, "We just can't". I was heartbroken. As time flew by, I monitored the muscles on my body. Slowly dissipating more and more after eight agonizing long years went by and I was getting no where...Things weren't good.
I was just on my last days of giving up and thinking about never going back to Will Moore.

It was my senior year of high school, March 9th, 2007, the day of the "Teen Arts Festival". My Art and Photography Teacher: Mrs. Rossi and Mr. Moore took a bunch of us on to the Pemberton Campus at BCC. The day went by fast as the last 2 hours were remaining until we had to leave. Since it was an art festival I had asked one of my friends to take a photo of me doing a back tuck. And so I did so. Then I was asked if I could do a combo. So I did. Then...
The door to light had opened once again, relinquishing a new path and a road of events soon to come....
As if I wasn't getting a big crowd already, another crowd of students purged out of the doors of the cafeteria and ran out over to me. Everybody, but one student had stopped about 7 feet in front of me.
A Caucasian boy with blonde hair, thick build, dressed in a black school uniform did a Layout like I'd never seen before. Followed by a series of aerials and combos.
I was in sheer awe and at this boy's skill. I was so eager to know of what he just did and where he learned it that I nearly forgot to ask him who he was...

His name was Alex Puhalla. (GODSTOUCH)

Years of my hibernation and impatience were finally out. "A few tricks, huh?" I said to myself. "In front of the windows of the cafeteria?" As If it was the simplest thing that I could have done at any time. "Why didn't I think of this sooner?" I said.

The dream that was locked in darkness by many years of waiting and searching was now opened again. Thanks to Alex. He's my hero and a close friend now, and he's invited me to his gym where he tumbles at TNT Gym. Where he now teaching me all sorts of tricks! At first when I met him. He would sometimes brag and believe that I was better than he was and I shake my head in denial; "NO!!!!" In fact, I couldn't do half of the things he did!!! He's was alot more skilled that I was! And he still is... But thankfully he doesn’t say that anymore, or I would hope he doesn't...but I’ll tell you this.
He a magnificent teacher(very strict), actor, dancer, and Martial Artist!
PLUS...
He's a big guy and I don't think you wanna mess with him...TRUST ME!!!
He's alot tougher than he looks!
Sure, you could take him, but lasting for more than a minute is the hard part.
Unless you’re skilled. Not like me...

Yeh...well. That’s my history.

As for my tricking skill ...
I don't know how to judge myself ... Yes, Alex has taught my alot the first summer. It's harder to trick w/ him now that he's working. So I try to teach myself some tricks or just hang w/ friends who trick or wanna-be tricksters. It wavers. I'll just say I’m an amateur. I've got a number of tricks... that I can do. (Like 35, got a list.) But they are mixed w/ basics. So yea...
Parkour is another thing. I'm not as agile as I’d thought I’d be, so it’s difficult to do Parkour every now and then. The difficult thing is, I have a slight fear of heights and I’m running through all these places that I don't really feel comfortable in sometimes... but we all gotta sometimes! We've all been there.
I've got a several friends who I trick with... although... I just want to expand our teachings and pass on the knowledge that we share.
Which reminds me. Here in the North East...tricksters aren't as abundant around here as they are in the West. (except in NY)
So we're speadin' the "skill".

So my goal is...
9 to 12 people on our team...but will that ever goal be met?

Only time will tell...
